  • Overview

    The Medical Assistant provides patient care under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider. Performs select duties for the promotion of health in the care of patients and delivers care according to practice protocols and procedures.




    Qualifications and Education Requirements 

    • Dedicated to high quality patient care.  
    • Detail oriented and strong at multitasking. 
    • Prioritizing and critical thinking skills. 
    • Excellent communication and customer service. 
    • Able to work in a team and independently 
    • Able to work in a fast pace environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. 
    • Solid work history. 
    • High School Diploma/GED 
    • CMA or RMA Certification or MA Associate Degree. 
    • CPR Certification. 
    • Current shot records/TB testing. 


    Preferred Skills 

    • Previous clinical experience. 
    • Previous OB/GYN or Family Practice experience.

    Essential Functions

    Role and Responsibilities 

    Duties include: 

    • Administrative – Triage calls, obtain medical history, maintain patient records, provides test and lab results to patients, presents relevant information to provider, medication refills, giving patient instructions, communicate messages from patients to providers, reviewing and updating patients’ records (EMR) and other duties, as needed. 
    • Reception – Maintain professional appearance, register new patients, update existing patient demographics, collect pertinent patient information, check patients in/out, collect co-pays or patient responsibility payments, maintain office supplies and work area and other duties, as needed. 
    • Clinical - Injections, vitals, rooming patients and assisting doctor in medical procedures and other duties, as needed.
